Poppy Field Image Background Change
Project type
Photoshop
Created a travel flyer promoting the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve by placing myself into a new photographic environment and replacing the original background. I used Adobe Photoshop to combine separate images into one cohesive scene, carefully editing the subject and background so the final composition appeared natural and believable.
I used selection and masking techniques to isolate myself from the original photograph before placing the subject into the poppy field background. I adjusted the positioning, scale, lighting, and overall appearance to help the two images work together as one composition. I then incorporated the edited photograph into a travel flyer layout designed to promote the destination.
What I Learned
This project strengthened my understanding of Photoshop compositing and showed me how multiple photographs can be combined to create a completely new scene. I learned the importance of accurate selections, masking, scale, lighting, and placement when making a composite image look cohesive. I also learned how photo manipulation can be used for a practical design purpose, such as creating promotional and travel marketing materials.
