Pixel Strecth

Created an experimental digital artwork in Adobe Photoshop inspired by the pixel-stretching trend. I used a photograph of an old orange pickup truck as the main subject and manipulated the image to create a stretched pixel effect that extended parts of the truck into the surrounding composition.

The bright orange color of the truck created a strong contrast against the rest of the image, helping the vehicle remain the focal point even as the photograph became increasingly distorted. I experimented with stretching, duplicating, and manipulating pixels to create movement while maintaining enough of the original truck to keep the subject recognizable.

What I Learned

This project allowed me to explore a more experimental side of Photoshop and see how digital distortion can transform an ordinary photograph into something unexpected. I learned how color contrast can help maintain a strong focal point even when other parts of an image are heavily manipulated. It also gave me more experience balancing an effect with the original subject so the final piece felt intentional rather than randomly distorted.
